With millions of kids all over the world dealing with different middle school problems, somebody has to write about them. That man is Jeff Kinney of Plainville.

A couple of days ago I bought some candy from a convenience store and, when the cashier handed me my change, I almost handed it back to her. I thought she had given me Monopoly money when I saw the giant purple five on the back of the bill.

Two North Attleborough schools, the Joseph Martin, Jr. Elementary School and the Falls Elementary School recently participated in book drive coordinated through the school libraries.

Attleboro Community Theatre (ACT) will present a holiday treat for all ages - "Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical," book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin. Directed and choreographed by Don Gillis of Cumberland, and with musical direction by Justin Kisch, of Providence, The Nunsense Christmas Musical is the first "TV Special" taped by the sisters in their convent basement studio for Cable Access.

This fall downtown North Attleborough will be welcoming a new venue to town: the Speed of Thought Players' Playhouse. 

When the Star Players of Bristol County cast North Attleborough resident Gary Poholek as Professor Harold Hill in Joel Thayer's production of Meredith Wilson's The Music Man, they harnessed an enormous talent in Poholek, his limitations only in the fact that he is contained inside the cozy-quaint theater of Friedman Middle School in Taunton. His energy, powerful voice and magnetic presence had the wall-to-wall audience routing for him,  short of reaching in their pockets for money, sold on Hill's mission: to assemble a boys' marching band in 1912 River City, Iowa.

Michael Atwood is a busy man. When not teaching English at Oliver Ames High School or freelance writing for Boston-based publications, he spends his time with his four-year-old son and his eight-week-old daughter. Any extra hours, minutes, or seconds are devoted to his passion project, the self-described three-piece power-pop/alternative/country band: Big Amp Envy.

North Attleborough resident Gary Poholek will star as Prof. Harold Hill in "The Music Man," Broadway's All-American, high-stepping, brass-band of a musical, to be presented this August by the Star Players of Bristol County.

On Wednesday, July 11, 300 area residents poured through the doors of the South Attleboro Cardi's Furniture to audition for CBS's upcoming Survivor 16.

As the North Attleborough Firefighters Association Kids Day gets under way Thursday, residents should expect to see the police department diverting traffic at several spots in town in order to accommodate certain events throughout the four-day fun fest from July 12 to 15.

In just two weeks from now, Mason Field will take on a familiar look as the North Attleborough Firefighters Association Kids Day makes its splash for the 27th year.
For four days, from July 12 to 15, the smell of food, screams from thrill-ride enthusiasts and the sounds of live music will take over that part of town.
