The JA Titan Competition is a widely recognized Web-based business simulation in which high school students create and run a fictional manufacturing company. Working in randomly selected industry groups, students make master key business decisions involving the price of their product, production levels, marketing expenses, research and developmental costs, capital investment levels, and charitable giving. Student success in the competition is based on the evaluation of their company's performance in retained earnings, supply and demand potential, productivity, market share, and growth.
The JA Titan Competition strives to educate students to value free enterprise, business, and economics.
Founded in 1919, JA was offered as an after-school program until 1975, when it was brought inside the classroom. In 2000, the JA Titan Competition was launched in its current Web-based format.
