Brownie Chip biscotti gets super approval

Mary Montione, owner of Montione's Biscotti Bakery, was psyched when Robert Kraft, Chairman and CEO of the New England Patriots, sent thank-you letters praising the taste of the gourmet biscotti baked by her bakery. Montione has on occasion hand delivered biscotti gifts and their Biscotti Cream Trifle to Kraft to show team support.
Montione's company bakes gourmet biscotti, an Italian dipping cookie, from an original family recipe. She said that she and her staff are avid Patriots fans.
Montione says that one way she builds her small business is by "observing and reading about successful, well respected business people, like Mr. Kraft. People like Mr. Kraft are role models. He is known for his excellence and integrity. He is someone who did not have to take the time to send thank-yous to a small business like my own. But the fact that he did is very inspiring for me to continue doing my very best.
"The Patriots are the perfect football team and I feel like the perfect biscotti!"
She explained, "I was so excited about receiving the letters, I professionally framed all three of them and proudly displayed them in my bakery. Customers love reading them. They are even intrigued to try Mr. Kraft's favorite biscotti flavor, Brownie Chip Dipped in Chocolate."
Kraft wrote, "They are awesome biscotti! Great product and the chocolate dipped biscotti are one of my most favorite indulgences. I especially enjoyed the Brownie Chip Dipped in Chocolate."
Montione is planning to name the Brownie Chip Dipped in Chocolate biscotti as the February Flavor of the Month. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Boston Children's Hospital Cardiology Department to support Congenital Heart Defect Month, and feature the biscotti flavor and trifle at their next Biscotti Tasting on Saturday, March 8, which is free for the public to attend and will support New Hope, a regional organization helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
