New heroes join NAFD

Three generations of firefighters participated in the North Attleborough Fire Department's Swearing-in Ceremony on Monday, April 7. Two promotions and three new appointments were initiated with the ceremonial bagpipe procession of the Rhode Island Professional Firefighter, words from Chief Peter Lamb and newly appointed NA Firefighters Local 1992 Leader Mark Renker, and a guest speech by Plainville Fire Chief, and former North Attleborough firefighter, Theodore Joubert.
Ronald Meyer was promoted to captain, pinned by his wife Wendy Meyer with his father's badge. Michael Chabot accepted a promotion to lieutenant, receiving a pin from his father, retired North Attleborough Lieutenant Albert Chabot.
Town Clerk Maxwell Gould swore in new appointees, and fire department employees since February, Seth Hagerty, Jonathon Underhill, Jr., and Joshua Langille. New Firefighter Hagerty was pinned by his father, Franklin Fire Captain Jim Hagerty. Underhill, appointed a firefighter, was pinned by his father, North Attleborough Firefighter Jonathon Underhill, Sr. Call Firefighter Joshua Langille was pinned by his grandfather, retired Firefighter Geno Nardelli.
Service awards, recognizing years of service were bestowed to 28 members of the North Attleborough Fire Department. Receiving honors for five years of service: Mike Levasseur, Mike Bristol, Scott McAuliffe, Bill Hogan, Mark Renker, and George McKinnon. Ten-year service awards were presented to Lt. Mike Chabot, Shawn Brillon, Mike Haueisen, Rob Gaulin, Jeff McCall, and Eric Meyer. Awards for 15 years of service were received by Lt. Jeff Badger, Supt. Jim Moriarty, Lt. Brian Brousseau, John Cooper, Derek Sankey, and Stephen Baillargeon. Larry Silvestri, Lt. Curt Chretien, Dave Chretien, Rick Lambert, Brett Langille, Glenn Dwyer, and Lt. Ron Darling received 20-year service awards. A 25-year award was presented to Callman Wayne Hitchcock; 30-year service awards were presented to Peter Nardelli and Dale Collard.
